EMDR Therapy for Trauma
Support for Pregnancy, Postpartum, and the Tender Seasons in Between
Welcome — I’m really glad you’re here
If you’ve landed on this page, you might be carrying something heavy… maybe something you haven’t even said out loud yet.
Maybe pregnancy or postpartum has brought up feelings you didn’t expect. Maybe a past birth, medical experience, or loss still lingers in your body in ways you wish it didn’t. Or maybe you just don’t feel like yourself right now — and you want to understand why.
Whatever brings you here … You don’t have to figure it all out on your own.
I work with women who are pregnant, postpartum, or anywhere along the winding path of motherhood. My style is warm, gentle, and very down-to-earth. I’m not here to analyze you from a distance — I’m here to sit with you, listen deeply, and help you feel supported and understood.
One of the ways I help clients heal is through EMDR therapy.
And if you’ve heard that term before and thought, “Umm… what?” — you’re not alone. Let’s break it down simply.
So… what is EMDR? (In plain, human language)
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing — but don’t worry, the name sounds much more intense than the therapy itself. Here’s the gentle version:
Sometimes when something overwhelming happens — a painful birth, a scary medical moment, a loss, or even an experience from years ago — your brain doesn’t get to fully “file it away.”
It gets stuck.
Like a knot.
And when that knot gets triggered, your mind and body can react like the event is happening all over again — even if you logically know you’re safe now.
EMDR helps your brain finish the processing it never got to do.
We use small back-and-forth movements (usually with your eyes or gentle tapping), called bilateral stimulation, that help your brain naturally move that stuck memory into a calmer place.
How EMDR can support you during pregnancy or postpartum
These seasons of life can bring up so much — emotionally, physically, hormonally, and spiritually. EMDR can be especially helpful if you’re moving through:
Birth trauma (recent or from a past delivery)
A traumatic pregnancy or NICU experience
Fertility challenges or pregnancy loss
Fear or anxiety related to birth or postpartum
Feeling “on edge” or easily triggered
Old wounds resurfacing as you move into parenthood
Your body is carrying a lot. You deserve support that helps untangle some of those deeper layers. You deserve to feel safe in your own body
Trauma can make daily life feel smaller, harder, or more overwhelming than it needs to be — especially during pregnancy or postpartum. With the right support, it can feel different. Softer. Lighter. More manageable.
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
You really don’t.
